Myanmar’s military regime will hold the first phase of its election on December 28, almost five years since the coup.
The junta announced the election will be held in three phases: in 102 townships on Sunday, across 100 townships on January 11, and in 63 townships on January 25.
The election will skip 56 townships where it lacks control, and no arrangements have been announced for the remaining nine.
