The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has issued a report on 31 March on the Myanmar earthquakes and search and rescue operations underway.

The following is the main statement:

Three days following the catastrophic earthquakes that struck Myanmar, search and rescue operations continue as responders race against time to save those who are trapped beneath collapsed structures.

Current reports indicate that over 1,700 people died (updated to 2,000 on 31 March), more than 3,400 sustained injuries, and more than 300 people remain unaccounted for nationwide. The actual figures may be higher due to underreporting amidst disrupted telecommunications.
