UK Embassy calls for the release of Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi

The UK Embassy in Yangon has published a statement by the UK Minister of Indo-Pacific on the occasion of Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi’s 81st birthday on 19 June.


The following is the message:


“Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is still cut off from all contacts even on her 81st birthday.


‘‘The UK government is requesting the release of all the people including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who have been illegally arrested as human rights abuses continue in Myanmar.’’
