Two Teenagers and Three Women Among Eight Injured in Airstrike on Sun Ye Village, Anjanapura Township

Eight people, including two teenagers and three women, were injured this morning after the military junta conducted an aerial bombing attack on Sun Ye village in Anjanapura (Minbya) Township, Arakan (Rakhine) State.

The eight injured individuals have been identified asDaw Mar Mar Aye (43), U Maung Oo Phyu (70), Maung Phyo Wai Lin (13), Ma Pyone Pyone (22), Ko Aye Kyaw Moe (29), Maung Kyaw Win (28), Daw Aye Win Thein (45) and Maung Zaw Myo Oo (16).

At approximately 7:00 a.m. today, September 28, a Y-12 aircraft belonging to the Myanmar military dropped three bombs on the village. The attack injured the eight civilians and caused extensive damage to local houses and the area surrounding the regional hospital.

Local residents report widespread panic and anxiety following the airstrike. This attack follows a separate incident late last night, September 26, where a 50-year-old man was injured during a military bombing run on Anjanapura town.
