Two Myanmar government staff killed in drone bomb attacks during phase two of general election

YANGON: According to the Ministry of Information, on the day the second phase of the election was held, two government staff members were killed due to drone drop-bomb attacks in Mandalay, Sagaing, Bago, Magway, and Kayah State.
On January 11, when the second phase of the multiparty democratic general election was conducted, terrorist insurgent sabotage groups carried out attacks with the intention of killing, injuring and intimidating voters and disrupting the election process.
These attacks included the use of drones to drop bombs in Hpruso Township, Kayah State, and the arson and destruction of the home of a village administrator in Taung Thone Lone Village, Kyan Gyi Village Tract, Kyunsu Township, Tanintharyi Region.
Similarly, in Magway Region, attacks were carried out in Gangaw, Seikphyu, Salin, and Kanma towns using fixed-wing drones, rocket launchers, drop bombs and small arms.
In Sagaing Region, attacks using handmade rockets and drop bombs were launched in Chaung-U, Butalin, and Myinmu towns. In Bago Region, drop bombs were deployed in Htantabin Town.
