A junta airstrike killed all five members of a family in Sagaing Region’s Wetlet Township on Tuesday, as the regime intensifies its bombing campaign ahead of this month’s election.
Residents said the bomb hit a shophouse home in Nat Hmaw U village, killing the entire family, including a two-year-old girl.
“The airstrike occurred at around 12:06 a.m. Two bombs were dropped—one hit the shop-house and another landed near the monastery. The victims included a young couple, aged 25 and 24, and their two-year-old daughter,” a resident told The Irrawaddy.
