Fierce clashes erupted between the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and junta forces on 15 June in multiple villages across Nawnghkio Township, northern Shan State, with the TNLA accusing the junta of deploying poison gas bombs during the attacks.

Fighting broke out in the villages of Ummati, Yay Maung Tan, and Let Pan Kone. The TNLA reported that junta troops used three heavy artillery pieces and dropped over 70 bombs from drones in the Ummati and Yay Maung Tan areas – 37 of which allegedly contained poison gas.

In Let Pan Kone village, junta troops reportedly fired six rounds of heavy artillery. The extent of damage or casualties from the strikes has yet to be confirmed.
