Three Civilians, Including a Girl, Wounded in Myanmar Junta Air Strikes Near Kyaukphyu

Three civilians, including a 12-year-old girl, were injured and several homes were damaged during late-night junta air strikes targeting civilian villages in Kyaukphyu Township.

The attacks come as the Myanmar military faces continuous setbacks against the Arakan Army (AA) on the Kyaukphyu front. This frontline sits near critical Chinese-backed oil and gas infrastructure.

Starting late Saturday night, a military Y-12 transport plane modified for combat deployed eight bombs across three local villages:

-10:30 PM (Baya Village): Two bombs detonated inside a monastery courtyard, shattering the windows of a nearby school.

-11:46 PM (Kala Dwin Village): Three bombs destroyed a residential home belonging to U Tun Khin. The blast also killed three cows and two pigs, causing severe financial loss for local farmers.

-12:15 AM (Thit Ka Toe Village): Three bombs landed near the village monastery, wounding three internally displaced persons (IDPs) who had previously fled their home villages to seek shelter there.

The three wounded victims were identified as, Ma Su Nay Lin (12): Sustained shrapnel wounds to her left arm,U Chit Lwin (50): Injured in his right hip andDaw Than Yi (69): Injured in her back.

The blast in Thit Ka Toe village also killed livestock belonging to a resident.

Local sources report that the military is intentionally targeting non-combatant residential areas and religious structures as frontline losses mount across Arakan State.
