Terrorist Military Airstrike on Weerathani Township at Dawn Leaves About 5 Innocent Civilians Injured
The terrorist Myanmar military continuously bombed Weerathani town and Ywar Chaung Gyi village in Arakan State using a Y12 aircraft in the early hours of today, November 1.
A Y12 military transport aircraft of the terrorist Myanmar military, taking off from the Magway Air Force base, dropped approximately 34 drop bombs on Weerathani town and Ywar Chaung Gyi village between 3:30 AM and 4:36 AM today.
During the airstrike, about 5 people, including a 6-year-old child and a teenager, were injured, and some residential houses were damaged.
Among those injured in the airstrike were U Da Aung Kyaw (70), Daw Ma Saw Tin (35), Ma May Oo Khin (24), Ma Ma Nge (14), and 6-year-old Ma San Nwe Oo, who were all taking refuge as war refugees in the Ywar Chaung Gyi village tract of Weerathani Township.
An emergency rescue worker stated that among the injured, 70-year-old U Da Aung Kyaw sustained severe head injuries from shrapnel.
"They came and bombed right at dawn while people were sleeping. They dropped as many as 29 bombs on Weerathani town. Then they flew towards Ywar Chaung Gyi and dropped exactly 5 bombs there. Coming to bomb while the civilians are sleeping is a despicable act. Because they keep coming and bombing like this, people have to live in fear every day," said a local man from Weerathani.
It is reported that the injured individuals have currently been sent to receive emergency medical treatment.
It is observed that whenever the terrorist Myanmar military faces defeats in ground battles against the Arakan Army (AA), it acts out of desperation and continuously carries out airstrikes targeting residential neighborhoods, villages, and monasteries where the general public resides in the Arakan region.
