According to estimates by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Myanmar, nearly 3.8 million people are now internally displaced across the country, which remains one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises.
At the same time, four people, including a child aged just over one year, were killed and 14 others injured in military airstrikes in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, and Thandwe Township, Rakhine State, according to statements issued by relevant resistance forces.
Military leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed that a Chin revolutionary organisation was among the armed groups that had participated in peace talks during the previous 100 days. However, the Chin revolutionary organisation rejected the claim as entirely false.
