-Union Prime Minister-NUG Man Win Khine Than stated that starting from the junta’s sham election from the end of 2025 to 2026, there might be heavier battles with increasing momentum.
-The joint working committee against the illegitimate election, comprising the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) and the NUG, issued their stance regarding the junta’s election held on December 28. They stated that they would keep fighting against the military dictatorship beyond the election as well.
-In Aunglan Township of Magway Region, Taungdwingyi Unit (3) under Regiment (902) attacked the junta’s inspection gate in Setsuwa Village on the election day.
-As a movement against the junta’s sham election on December 28, Taungthar People’s Defence Force conducted attacks on the junta’s camps, including Taungthar Myoma Police Station.
-In Myawaddy, Karen State, there was a drone attack on the office of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) on the night of December 27, hours before the election. Reportedly, there was damage in the incident.
-In Pyi Township of Bago Region, there were mine explosions near (3) polling stations on the night of December 27.
-In Mandalay, sounds of explosion were heard as the junta forces in the Palace Compound and at the foot of Mandalay Hill were attacked with projectiles around 00:50 am on the morning of December 28. In response, the military junta fired heavy artillery, causing an explosion on the street of 86X5 in Aungmyay Tharzan Township and injuring 2 people.
-Despite tight security measures by the military junta, there was a bomb attack via drone on the regional government office in Dawei of Tanintharyi Region. Reportedly, there was damage in the bombing.
