Spring Revolution Daily News for 9 January 2026

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

• According to the NUG’s meeting (1/2026), the Ministry of Electricity and Energy name was changed into the Ministry of Electricity, Energy and Construction. 

• In Pakkoku of Magway Region, the revolution forces attacked a junta gate demanding money from the public on Pakkoku-Yezagyo Road. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died. 

• In Taungthar of Mandalay Region, there was an attack at the compound of staff housing, where the junta army had been stationed. According to Myingyan District Regiment (3), 2 junta soldiers died and military items were burnt.
