Spring Revolution Daily News for 9 August 2025

The National Unity Government (NUG)

• In Longlone Township of Tanintharyi Region, a leader of the junta’s Pyusawti Militia with a bad reputation for oppression of the public in Kyauknimaw Village, defected to the People’s Defence Force.

• The NUG stated that the Spring Revolution must be a time of unity among alliances of ethnic forces to stand up for the public alone and uproot various forms of dictatorship including the military one.

• The Acting President of the NUG Duwa Lashi La had exclusive meetings with a leader of the Kachin Independence Organization Brigadier-General Gun Maw and the leaders of the Chin Brotherhood.

• Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw called on the public and ethnic alliances to move forward together towards building a new nation of federal democracy.

• The Acting President of the NUG Duwa Lashi La asserted that the public have been committed to the principles against the military dictatorship in the 8888 Uprising which emerged 37 years ago and in the ongoing Spring Revolution.

• Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG and Salingyi People’s Administration stated that there had been no protest in Tanpu Village and it was just a made-up story of the junta’s lobbyists to degrade the image of Salingyi Township with a good momentum of the revolution.
