Spring Revolution Daily News for 31 December 2025

The National Unity Government (NUG)

· Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, the Minister of Union Prime Minister Office-NUG, stated that they would not forgive the exploitation of the revolution at all and they would promote freedom from corruption.

· The Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe stated that they had been working to replace the NUG with a transitional government comprising of more ethnic revolution leaders.

· In No. (1) Military Region under Ministry of Defence-NUG, Tamu District Regiment (2) announced that they would increase military momentum in 2026.

· In Gantgaw Township of Magway Region, People’s Defence Force has been carrying out offensives to the junta camps and the villages of Pyusawti Militia. Reportedly, they have seized control of a village.

· In Chauk Township of Magway Region, the Defence Forces conducted a mine attack on the junta army from Kyaukbadaung which had come to the area for the sham election. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died and 10 others were seriously injured.

· In Paukkaung Township of Bago Region, the PDFs attacked the junta army stationing near Aye Pagoda in Chaungkaung Village. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died.

· In Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region, the PDF stated that the junta army had set mines in the area although they left the area. Therefore, they called on the public to return home only upon a safety announcement after the clearance operation.

· In No. (1) Military Region of the NUG, a conscripted soldier and a sergeant from the junta army defected to Tamu District Regiment (2). Reportedly, they were financially rewarded.

· In Chauk Township of Magway Region, the revolution forces attacked the junta camps and troops. Reportedly, 7 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.

· In Yetashay Township of Bago Region, Aunglan Township of Magway Region and Tatgone Township of Naypyidaw, the revolution forces attacked the junta camps and troops. According to Ministry of Defence-NUG, 33 junta soldiers died.

· In Mandalay Region, there was a clash at Mile Post (332) on Yangon-Mandalay Highway while the PDF was conducting a surprise check. Reportedly, there were casualties among the junta soldiers.
