The National Unity Government (NUG)


According to the report on military progress in 2025 by the Ministry of Defence-NUG, the revolution forces have seized full control over 37 townships and surrounding control over 41 townships all over the country.


Ministry of Defence-NUG stated that they have been able to place 10 nationwide regional commands, a regiment and 360 forces under a single command.


In Seik Phyu Township of Magway Region, there were attacks on a junta inspection gate and a junta convoy. Reportedly, 19 junta soldiers died, 8 weapons were confiscated and the power lines to the junta’s Defence Equipment Factory (22) were damaged.


In Yekyi Township, Lemyetnar Township and Inkapu Township of Ayeyarwady Region, the junta army conducted attacks via fighter jets and heavy artillery in 2025. According to the People’s Defence Force, 69 people lost their lives and 167 houses were damaged in the incidents.


In Bago Township of Bago Region, there was a guerrilla attack on a junta troop invading the area. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers including a captain died, 5 others were caught alive and 12 weapons were confiscated.


In Letbadan Township of Bago Region, a conscripted soldier brought ammunition and defected to the special force of the PDF. Reportedly, he was rewarded 50 lakh MMK.


Tontay Township PDF stated that they had participated in the local military operations in the eastern and western banks of Sittaung River in Yetashay Township under Naypyidaw Regional Command.


Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG stated that responsible personnel had given amnesty badges, along with travel fares, to those prisoners who had been given amnesty in Kyunghla Township and Indaw Township of Sagaing Federal Unit.
