Spring Revolution Daily News for 3 February 2026

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

• Ministry of Foreign Affairs-NUG stated that 2026 is an important turning point for Myanmar and it is necessary to stop violence beyond reassuring the ASEAN 5-Point Consensus. 

• In Thayet Township of Magway Region, the District Regiment (4) conducted an attack on the junta’s No. (12) Defence Equipment Factory. 

• Yangon Regional People’s Defence Force Southern District Zone (1) Force (5) has been recruiting eligible new members to serve the revolution. 

• There was an attack via 14 75MM rockets at No. (12) Defence Equipment Factory (Thayet), which has been producing 120MM, 60MM and 40MM grenades for the junta army. 

• In Magway Region, there was a mine attack on a junta convoy from Seik Phyu to Salin to send rations and lamp posts. According to Pakkoku District Force (4), 6 junta soldiers died and 2 others defected to them. 

• On Sunday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs-NUG stated that they would cooperate positively with the ASEAN Chair, the ASEAN Troika and the Special Envoy of the ASEAN to realize the common goals of the NUG. 

• According to Ministry of Human Rights-NUG, the junta’s violence has been deteriorating, instead of deescalating, over the period of five years. 

• At the entrance to Sagaing in Sagaing Region, a police officer Aung Myo Oo, his wife and another policeman Aung Myint Oo, who have been helping license-less cars, were shot dead, according to a focal person of Minkun Area People’s Security Force.
