The National Unity Government (NUG)

In Myaung Township of Sagaing Federal Unit, the People’s Security Force burnt confiscated narcotic drugs in accordance with the law.

In Tamu Township of Sagaing Federal Unit, the Local Emergency Administration (Central) called on the people living in the areas under the control of the NUG to temporarily move to somewhere safe due to heavy battles.

At 5:00 pm Monday, there was a coordination meeting among the Federal and State Coordination Commission, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG and the Interim Magway Federal Unit Government.

Kathar District People’s Defence Force Battalion (5) called on local people doing businesses including gold mining not to carry out any activities related to the military junta.

In Sintku Township of Mandalay Region, the junta army conducted a bombing via drone on a local village, killing a woman and injuring 2 other civilians.

Revolution Activities

In Insein Township of Yangon Region, there was a mine attack on the junta’s police station. According to a focal person from Yangon Army, a junta member was injured in the incident.

In New Delhi, India, the protests related to education have been in great momentum. Therefore, responsible personnel of Myanmar Community warned Myanmar refugees staying in the city to take special caution for security.

In Northern Shan State, Hsipaw Bridge, which had been closed by the military junta for over eight months on Mandalay-Lashio Road, was reopened to the civilians on Tuesday.

Thailand’s Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) arrested a Myanmar man in the Thai border town of Mae Sot for attempting to smuggle kamikaze drones and parts into Myanmar.

According to the People’s Goal, 37 junta members defected to revolutionary forces and 9 others were caught as prisoners of war in battles in the second week of July.

In Myaing Township and Pauk Township of Magway Region, no fewer than 24 people lost their lives within a month due to the brutal treatment of the junta troops invading the areas.

In Wetlet Township of Sagaing Unit, Local Strike Committee led a youth meet-up on Saturday.

Dawei District Movement Support Committee (DDMSC) sent a statement of deep sorrow for 3 young people working for education and displaced people in Dawei, who had been arrested and killed by the junta army.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

A junta soldier and two police officers from Myanmar were arrested after entering Bangladesh illegally while fleeing the ongoing conflict against the Arakan Army in Rakhine State. Reportedly, they were handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station.

In Thatone Township of Mon State, there were battles between the junta armed forces and a combined force of Karen National Liberation Army. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers died.

Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (Central) announced that they had reformed their battalions and changed them into regional commands.

The Military Junta

Thai Foreign Minister told AFP that the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing would meet with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul in Bangkok on August 6 and 7.

Despite bans on animal foods and medicines due to a need in foreign currency, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing told ministers from Yangon Region and Bago Region to produce more meat and fishery products while improving the livestock sector.

According to the junta’s Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, the situation of El Niño with unusual patterns of rainfall and storms might get stronger in August.

The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the NCA-Signatory Ethnic Armed Organizations (NCA-S EAOs) conducted a two-day meeting in Naypyidaw to review the peace process.

The ceremony marking the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was held Tuesday evening at the Novotel Max Hotel in Yangon. It was attended by the junta’s Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and Commander-in-Chief (Army), General Kyaw Swar Lin, together with his wife.

The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that it is crucial for local authorities to prioritize and make an effort for the convenience of the public’s basic needs.
