The National Unity Government (NUG)


  • In Brisbane, Australia, the Union Minister for Federal Affairs-NUG Dr. Lian Hmung Sakhong met with Myanmar nationals on Wednesday and Thursday.

  • On the 81st birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on June 19, Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw, the NUG and the National Unity Consultative Council released statements, calling for the unconditional release of all the political prisoners including her.

  • In Sagaing Region, the Minister of Defence-NUG led an event of cutting a birthday cake and conducting a rose movement on the 81st birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Reportedly, Defence Minister of Sagaing Federal Unit U Moe Kaung and focal person of Kawlin District People’s Administration U Min Naung gave birthday remarks.

  • Magway Regional People’s Defence Force stated that for the unconditional liberation of political prisoners including the people’s leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, they conducted people’s strategic war and operations, and they had seized unta army camps, Pyusawti villages and the vehicles of junta officers.

  • Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations U Kyaw Moe Tun called on the international community to fully support the brave efforts of the Myanmar people to uproot the military dictatorship and build a federal democracy.

  • The NUG warned that new investments and business agreements with the military junta lack public representation, and it might lead to legal, financial and operational risks.

  • In Magway Unit, there was an attack on the junta army on their way to Yezagyo from Myaing Township. Reportedly, 7 junta soldiers were injured and weapons were confiscated.
