The National Unity Government (NUG)

-In Sagaing Township of Sagaing Region, revolutionary forces conducted a guerrilla attack on the junta’s gate in Pauktaw Village at 6:45 am on January 16.

-In Mandalay Region, a second police sergeant named Myo Min Aung from the junta’s Kana Police Station was arrested along with weapons, according to Sintkaing Township People’s Defence Force.

-NUG Support Team Japan announced that a public protest against the Myanmar military coup would be conducted in Tokyo on February 1, the 5th anniversary.

-Ministry of Social, Labour and Humanitarian Affairs-NUG stated that nighttime temperature would continue to fall in northern and eastern Kachin State as well as in northern and eastern Shan State. They added that there might be fog all over the country.

-At the regular coordination meeting of Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw on January 16, the Ministry of Federal Union Affairs-NUG presented about their activities and action plan.

-In Kyungsu Township of Tanintharyi Region, there was a guerrilla attack on the junta army invading the area. Reportedly, 10 junta soldiers died.
