The National Unity Government (NUG)

• The comrades from Dawei District People’s Defence Force (2), who had been detained by the Karen National Liberation Army, were back at their home unit along with weapons.

• In the meeting of Union Parliament, Acting President of the NUG Duwa Lashi La stated that the NUG had taken the first step for their reform process and they still had some others left.

• Ministry of Defence-NUG expressed thanks to the People’s Revolution Fund (PRF) for having supported rations over the period of four years so that the PDF comrades can serve their military duty well.

• In Khin-U Township of Sagaing Region, the military junta conducted an airstrike with four fighter jets and three gyrocopters on a non-military target – a traffic congestion on Strategy Road. Reportedly, a person lost their life and 6 others were injured.

• In Letbadan Township of Bago Region, a combined force of the PDFs attacked a junta base in Hsintalin Village on December 16 and seized control of it.

• On Thursday, an event was held in commemoration of International Migrants’ Day in Thailand. Reportedly, the focal persons of labour affairs under the NUG were present and encouraged Myanmar migrant workers.

• Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations U Kyaw Moe Tun requested the UN General Assembly to reject the sham election of the Myanmar military junta.
