The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • U Nay Phone Latt, the spokesperson of Union Prime Minister Office-NUG, asserted that the photo of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi issued by the military junta did not contain a specific time or date and thus, it was not valid proof of life.

  • The Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw discussed with Karenni State Democratic Party about the current political situation and future plans.

  • Tanintharyi Regional People’s Defence Force formed Combat Regiment and it would reportedly seek validation from Ministry of Defence-NUG.

  • Ministry of Social, Labour and Humanitarian Affairs-NUG issued policies on the prevention, reduction and elimination of forced labour.

  • In the May Day event, Acting President of the NUG Duwa Lashi La stated that the NUG would effectively implement the policy on prevention of forced labour.

  • In the statement on International Workers’ Day, Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw mentioned that they would cooperate to take measures against all the associates of the military junta in accordance with Article (33) of International Labour Organization.
