The National Unity Government (NUG)
In Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region, the NUG, People’s Defence Force and local people conducted an event prior to the 79th Martyrs’ Day.
In the south of Myawaddy in Karen State, there has been heavy fighting between the junta army and an alliance of revolutionary forces led by Karen National Union/ Karen National Liberation Army. According to the Black Leopard Column Strategic Force (32), some junta soldiers were caught alive with weapons.
On July 19, Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw and the NUG will conduct an event on the 79th Martyrs’ Day, starting from 9:30 am.
At the 2026 sustainable development forum under the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations U Kyaw Moe Tun delivered a speech.
Under the Ministry of Defence-NUG, the medical forces of the PDFs have been in operation as regional and district-level commands. Reportedly, they have been providing healthcare to revolutionary comrades and the public.

Revolution Activities

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)
Lieutenant General Saw Baw Kyaw Heh, former Vice Chief of Staff of Karen National Liberation Army, was chosen to be the Commander-in-Chief.
In Hakha of Chin State, there was a gunfire in town on Friday morning. According to the Chair of CDF Hakha, the junta’s officer Zaw Zaw Aung and his Personal Security Officer died in the incident.
Interim Executive Council of Karenni State announced that 2 civilians had lost their lives due to the junta’s airstrikes on Loikaw and Hpasaung.
The Military Junta
Russian and Myanmar forces conducted a joint exercise, dubbed “Tropical Storm,” at the National Defence College in Naypyidaw from July 6 to 17.
In the meeting with Indian Ambassador, Speaker of the junta’s Pyithu Hluttaw U Khin Yi said that they would like to promote corporation with the Indian Parliament.
The Deputy Director of the junta’s SME Department said that 1.7 billion MMK had been loaned to 85 business owners in Shan State.
A junta’s delegation led by Tin Aung San was in India from 13 to 17 July to attend the 5th BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs’ Meeting held in New Delhi.
The junta’s Education Minister called to make an effort to teach via digital learning platforms or video lessons in remote areas.
