The Steering Council for the Emergence of a Federal Democratic Union (SCEF) stated on Wednesday that their meeting with ASEAN representatives did not signify an official political dialogue or negotiation with the military junta has begun.

The Steering Council for the Emergence of a Federal Democratic Union (SCEF) stated that invitation for a political dialogue while attacking civilians unconditionally could not be a meaningful dialogue and the military junta do not have authentic commitment to political negotiation.

In Tanintharyi Region, a local defence force based in Dawei District, Iron Butterfly, officially received the guidance of the People’s Defence Force under the Ministry of Defence-NUG.

Minister for Foreign Affairs-NUG Daw Zin Mar Aung met with the ASEAN Special Envoy and Foreign Minister of the Philippines on July 13.

According to the Ministry of Defence-NUG, 644 junta soldiers including officers died and 209 others were injured in battles in June.

In Paukkaung Township of Bago Region, there was a rocket attack on the junta’s Chinle Gate. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers including an officer died and over 10 others were injured.

At the high-ranking political forum on sustainable development at the United Nations, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun stated that the poverty rate has increased by 50% in Myanmar after the military coup.
