The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In Yetashay Township of Bago Region, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing via fighter jet on Sibain Village without any battles on the eastern bank of Sittaung River. According to the People’s Defence Force, a local man lost his head and life in the incident.

  • In Mahlaing Township of Mandalay Region, 4 junta soldiers died and some weapons were confiscated in local battles.

  • The Ministry of Social, Labour and Humanitarian Affairs-NUG stated that an earthquake with Richter Scale 4.3 had hit near Mawlight in Sagaing Region at about 8:00 pm Friday.

  • In Mahlaing Township of Mandalay Region, 10 junta soldiers died and 6 weapons were confiscated, according to Myingyan District Battalion (1).


Revolution Activities


  • In Gyobinkauk Township of Bago Region, the junta troop invading the area has stationed in a local village. Consequently, local people have not been able to return home yet.

  • In Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region, Township PDF caught a former focal person of local PDF in Boatsu Village. Reportedly, local people called for his release.

  • Anti-Junta Forces Coordination Committee strongly denounced human rights violations against political prisoners in Obo Prison of Mandalay Region.

  • Special Advisory Council for Myanmar stated on Saturday that ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ scheduled meeting with the Myanmar junta’s “foreign minister” in Bangkok on Sunday would undermine ASEAN’s own Five-Point Consensus (5PC) and reward the junta’s bloodshed and recalcitrance.

  • In Sagaing Region, there was an attack on the soldiers in charge of security for the junta convoy from Regiment (33) in Sagaing to the junta’s Northwest Regional Command in Monywa. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers died.


Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)


  • There has been heavy fighting between the junta army and Karen National Liberation Army near Thailand-Myanmar border. According to Thai media, the military junta used YAK-130 and Y-12 planes in their aerial bombings.

  • A combined force of KNLA Brigade (4) announced that they are getting ready to carry out an offensive in Mawtaung, a border trade town where the junta army has been re-stationed.

  • In Rakhine State, some areas have been faced with severe flooding due to heavy rainfall. In recent days, the junta army has constantly conducted airstrikes and fired heavy artillery from military ships. On Friday morning, they carried out aerial bombings on Pauktu Village and Kalachaung Village in Gwa Township. Consequently, 4 people, including a child aged 3, lost their lives, according to the Arakan Army.

  • In Mai Pauk of Wa Self-Administered Area in Eastern Shan State, the area has been flooded and emergency rescue activities have had to be carried out.

  • In Mone Township of Bago Region, a landmine laid by the junta army exploded. According to the Karen National Union (Central), 2 civilians lost their lives.

The Military Junta

  • The Foreign Ministry of Thailand stated on Saturday that ASEAN’s current stance and decision on Myanmar remains the same. The junta’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Tin Maung Swe is due to meet with ASEAN foreign ministers in an informal meeting in Bangkok.

  • Regarding extra charges in addition to official fee in issuing Certificates of Identity for Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand, the Department of Employment met with labour attaches and sent a letter to Myanmar Embassy to deal with complaints.

  • On July 2, it was amended that only the Union Election Commission would decide the existence of the MPs representing the political parties when abolished.

  • Myanmar and Bangladesh discussed trilateral electricity facility among China, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

  • In Shwe Kokko, the military junta demolished another 8-storey building related to online scams. Reportedly, up to 71 illegal residences have been demolished so far.

  • On the market, a viss of edible oil costs 18,000MMK to 20,000 MMK. Regarding it, the junta’s spokesperson Dr. Khine Khine Soe claimed that they had been reviewing it not to harm the public’s interest.
