The National Unity Government (NUG)
The SURJ was set up to make an effort to bring justice for sexual violence during war and conflicts, and to make the voices of the survivors known to the public. Reportedly, the Minister of Women, Youth and Children’s Affairs-NUG delivered a video message in the launching ceremony of the group.
In Shwebo Township of Sagaing Region, the People’s Defence Forces seized control of the junta camps including that of Pyusawti Militia in Hinthargyi Village. Reportedly, a second commander from the junta army was arrested, 9 junta soldiers died, 8 others were injured and weapons were confiscated.
At 10:00 am Thursday, the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration conducted a meeting (23/2025).
In Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region, 6 soldiers from the junta’s KyaukM yet Taung Camp defected to Yinmabin District PDF, along with weapons.
