RSO Uses 5 Islands in Naf River as Yaba Drug Storage Facilities
It is reported that five islands located in the Naf River along the Myanmar-Bangladesh border are under the control of the Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) and are being used as factories and storage warehouses for Yaba narcotics.
The five islands, known by locals as the "Naf River Islands," are Laldia Island, Khererdia, Houserdia, Totardia, and Joillardia.
According to a local resident from Palongkhali, RSO members are based on these islands and are able to operate and move freely without fear of arrest, allegedly aided by the support of certain Bangladeshi authorities.
Refugees noted that despite the RSO's presence for many years, the group has brought no benefits to the Muslim community, operating instead solely for self-interest and exploitation.
Over the past nine years, from 2017 to the present day, the RSO has reportedly been involved in targeted armed robberies, killings, kidnappings for ransom, drug trafficking, and arms smuggling within refugee camps.
As these islands along the Naf River have transformed into major hubs and routes for illicit drug trafficking, regional security and stability concerns continue to escalate.
