Myanmar junta forces that suffered heavy casualties in Sagaing Region’s Indaw Township have regrouped with reinforcements from Wuntho Township and advanced into neighboring Kawlin Township, triggering widespread civilian displacement.

After suffering severe losses during an October offensive in Indaw, regime troops merged with reinforcement units from Wuntho and pushed as far as Doepin and Paukkone villages at the foot of Nayputaung mountain, local sources said.

Intense fighting broke out around both villages as ground troops advanced under heavy aerial support.

On November 4 at around 7:00 p.m., a regime fighter jet bombed a resistance-operated hospital treating civilians in Hlyawhpyukone village, eastern Kawlin Township.

The strike killed five healthcare workers—including senior Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) physician Dr. Zar Ni Tun, also known as Pwa Gyi—and wounded several patients and caregivers. The reports of direct atrocities against civilians marked the advance.

On the morning of November 3, junta soldiers executed three internally displaced persons who encountered the advancing column near a scenic viewpoint in Doepin, according to the Kawlin Revolution (KR) monitoring group.

The combined ground offensive and sustained air raids have forced thousands of residents to flee across eastern Kawlin Township and several border villages between Indaw and Tigyaing townships, including Budalat, Nyaungkone, Aikma, Kyaungkone, and Sakarpin.
