President U Min Aung Hlaing to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping

President U Min Aung Hlaing will pay a state-level goodwill visit to China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China, where he will meet with the Chinese President and hold bilateral talks, the Office of the President announced on June 12.

During the visit, the President will meet with the Chinese President and hold bilateral talks, meet with the Chinese Premier and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, and receive representatives from state leaders and business organizations.

In addition, he will attend a business conference and visit high-tech industries. During the visit, he will have a frank and open exchange of views on issues of further strengthening the existing Swe Myo Pauk Phaw relations between Myanmar and China, and on economic, security and multi-sectoral cooperation between the governments and people of the two countries, according to the statement.

The President will be accompanied by Union Ministers and responsible persons during the visit. President U Min Aung Hlaing also attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO SUMMIT 2025 Plus) Summit held from August 30 to September 6, 2025, and the military parade held in Beijing to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism and World War II. During the visit, he held separate meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and met with Russian President Putin, Indian Prime Minister Modi, and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, among other international leaders. President U Min Aung Hlaing also paid an official visit to India from May 30 to June 3 at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Modi.
