Over 440,000 displaced nationwide as floods spread in Myanmar; Regime criticized for lack of aid

Aid workers and residents across central and lower Myanmar report that the regime in Naypyidaw is failing to deliver basic emergency assistance and effective flood relief to victims across Ayeyarwady, Mandalay, and Sagaing regions.

While regime media reports that Naypyidaw has distributed tens of millions of kyat in aid, communities on the ground in Ayeyarwady’s Lemyethna Township report receiving virtually no food, bottled water, or shelter supplies from regime authorities as floodwaters continue to expand.
