NUG condemns school bombing and ongoing war crimes by Myanmar junta

On 16 May, the National Unity Government (NUG) released a statement condemning the Myanmar military junta’s deadly airstrike on a school in Oehteindwin Village, Depayin Township, Sagaing Region.

The statement highlights the junta’s ongoing war crimes and calls on the international community to take urgent action to stop the military’s atrocities.

The statement is as follows.

Under the command of Min Aung Hlaing, the terrorist military council’s air force carried out a brutal aerial bombing on a school in Oe Htein Twin Village, Depayin Township, Sagaing Region at approximately 9:36 AM on May 12, 2025. The attack killed 20 students and 2 female teachers on the spot, while over 100 others sustained serious injuries and are receiving medical treatment.
