The National Unity Government (NUG) and opposition groups have called on five neighbouring countries, including China and Thailand, to take decisive action against transnational crimes linked to the military junta and its allied border guard forces, particularly regarding cybercrime and online fraud.

On January 20, the NUG, joined by revolutionary organizations including the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP), Karen National Union (KNU), Chin National Front (CNF), All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF), New Mon State Party Anti- Military Dictatorship (NMSP-AD), Women’s League of Burma (WLB), and others, issued a joint statement urging China, India, Bangladesh, Laos, and Thailand to establish effective communication and information-sharing channels to address the issue.
