Nine-month-old infant wounded in junta drone attack in Kyaukphyu Township passes away

A baby, only nine months old, who was hurt in an air raid on Mu Rong village in Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State, has passed away due to severe injuries.
The infant, identified as Maung Aye Min Khine (9 months), was the child of U Nyi Si Kay and Daw Khine Hnin Yi from Sai Kron Dwein village in Kyaukphyu Township.
The baby passed away at 7 am on January 26 while undergoing treatment for critical wounds.
On January 24, around 1 pm, a suicide drone deployed by the terrorist junta targeted a school in Mu Rong village, where individuals displaced by conflict were seeking refuge.
During that attack, Daw Phyu Nu Ma (81) and U Mhe Daung (56) from Thaing Chaung village were killed instantly.
In addition to the deceased infant, Maung Aye Min Khaing (9 months), Daw Khin San Win (34), Daw Ma Mya Yin (56) from Thaing Chaung village, Daw Ba Nu Ma (67) from Zai Chaung village, and U Maung Kyaw (63) sustained injuries.
With the recent death of a 9-month-old child, the total number of fatalities from the assault on Mu Rong village has risen to three.
Four injured individuals remain under medical care.
In Kyaukphyu Township, known for Chinese investments, there is ongoing intense conflict between the Arakan Army (AA) and the junta, with local residents reporting that the junta military is experiencing the heaviest losses.
