Myanmar military junta conducts airstrikes on Mrauk-U General Hospital, killing 33, including patients, injuring many others

A total of 33 innocent individuals, including patients, lost their lives, and 76 people sustained injuries due to airstrikes carried out by the Myanmar military junta on the Mrauk-U General Hospital in Arakan (Rakhine) State, reports indicated.


At 9:15 in the evening on December 10, which is recognized as International Human Rights Day, an aircraft belonging to the Myanmar Junta Air Force released two 500-pound bomb on the hospital.


A minimum of 33 patients lost their lives, and more than 76 others sustained injuries due to the bombing.


An on-site source working with social activists in Mrauk-U stated, "There are many casualties. The explosion impacted the individuals located in the patient ward of the hospital. Currently, 33 individuals have lost their lives. Many individuals are injured as well. Officials are continuing their investigation. The fire continues to burn.”


The Arakan Army (AA) stated that over 33 individuals lost their lives and many others were hurt in the assault on the hospital.
