Narinjara, 1 November 2026
Nearly a dozen people were killed and over ten injured following aerial bombardments by the Myanmar military in Kyauktaw, Mrauk-U, and Kyaukphyu townships in Rakhine State today, according to local sources.
Reports indicate that the Myanmar military conducted a series of airstrikes on November 1, 2026.
The attacks resulted in the deaths of seven civilians at the Yo Chaung Bridge in Kyauktaw and four civilians in Mrauk-U, while over ten others sustained injuries across the region.
At approximately 5:30 PM, two military jet fighters bombed the Yo Chaung Bridge and its surrounding area in Kyauktaw township.
The strike killed seven civilians, injured five others, and reportedly destroyed the bridge. Shortly before 5:00 PM, another aerial bombing targeted the area around the Ngwe Taung Pauk Bridge at the entrance to Mrauk-U, as well as an old police station.
A local resident informed Narinjara that this attack killed four people, two men and two women, injured four others, and destroyed one home.
Furthermore, the military carried out an aerial assault involving bombing and heavy aircraft weaponry near Chin Min Pyin village in Kyaukphyu Township, leaving approximately seven to eight people injured.
These attacks followed a joint request made on October 30 by 70 Rakhine civil society and humanitarian organizations. The groups urged the international community, including the United Nations Security Council, ASEAN, and various international governments, to intervene against these actions and establish a "No-Fly Zone" over Rakhine State.
