The junta carried out a new series of airstrikes and shelling of civilian targets in Rakhine State since the hospital massacre in Mrauk-U earlier this week.
The Arakan Army (AA), which controls the areas, said junta fighter jets bombed villages in Ponnagyun and Rathedaung townships in the early hours of Saturday, though casualty figures were not immediately available.
On Friday night, regime aircraft used cluster munitions and rockets to attack villages in Ponnagyun, Pauktaw, and Mrauk-U townships.
