Myanmar regime objects to Japan’s PM Takaichi's remarks on Taiwan issue

The Chinese Embassy released a statement on November 21, 2025, indicating that Myanmar has firmly opposed the possibility of a resurgence of fascism in Japan.
Moreover, the Chinese embassy stated that Myanmar expressed its disagreement with Japanese Prime Minister Mrs. Takaichi's incorrect remarks on the Taiwan issue.
In the announcement, "The leader of the Myanmar National Defense and Security Council Press Release Group, Deputy Minister of Information Major General Zaw Min Tun, expressed disapproval while responding to a question from a Xinhua news reporter on November 22."
General Zaw Min Tun says that the Prime Minister of Japan, Mrs. Takaichi, has raised concerns regarding her inaccurate comments about the Taiwan situation and has confirmed that Myanmar has consistently supported the "One China Policy."
General Zaw Min Tun added that Prime Minister of Japan Mrs. Takaichi's remarks indicate that the lessons from history have not been learned. He emphasized that Japan has displayed neither remorse nor accountability for the offenses committed in Asia.
Countries in Southeast Asia, such as Myanmar, have been significantly impacted by Japanese fascism, and Myanmar strongly opposes the potential resurgence of fascism in Japan.
General Zaw Min Tun said Japanese Prime Minister Mrs. Takaichi's comments regarding the "One China Policy" highlighted that this policy is being violated and that "Taiwan independence" is promoting separatist movements.
Major General Zaw Min Tun stated that Myanmar has consistently followed the "One China Policy" with strong commitment.
The State of Taiwan is an inalienable part of the People's Republic of China. Additionally, it is asserted that the Taiwan situation is a domestic issue for China, and Myanmar firmly opposes any external interference.
