More Sittwe residents taken into custody

Residents in Sittwe, the capital of Rakhine State, are facing arrests by the junta and its supporters as tensions escalate between the AA and the military.


At approximately 10 p.m. on October 27, a group of around 30 individuals, consisting of military, law enforcement, fire services, and other staff, detained a 40-year-old man named U Thar Paing Gyi while verifying the guest list in the Lanmadaw North ward of Sittwe, as reported by an informed source.


“He was apprehended due to his suspicious behavior and required further examination. He has not been set free yet. The list of guests is reviewed on a daily basis," stated the source.


U Thar Paing Gyi remains in custody, and his family is experiencing concern.


At approximately 8:30 pm on October 25, ALP forces apprehended two individuals, including a twelfth-grade student, in the Lanmadaw North area, he noted.
