Monywa Military Headquarters Rocket Attack Kills 8, Including Officers

PDF Revolutionary forces launched a targeted rocket attack against the junta's Northwestern Military Headquarters (NAMAKHA) in Monywa, Sagaing Division, killing eight people, including several senior military officers.

The National Unity Government's (NUG) Ministry of Home Affairs announced on May 20 that the strike inflicted heavy casualties on junta soldiers and caused significant structural damage to the base.

The operation was carried out at 9:55 PM on May 19.

PDF forces fired five 107 mm rockets, four of which detonated directly inside the regional military headquarters. In addition to the eight fatalities, the explosions injured approximately 20 personnel and damaged multiple buildings.

Following the operation, the Internal Security and Counter-Terrorism Department of the Myanmar Police Force (under the NUG) issued a statement declaring that the armed struggle will persist until the military dictatorship is fully eradicated.
