The MNDAA and the TNLA, members of the Three Brotherhood Alliance, have stated that the military government's daily acts of violence against the populace are driving Myanmar closer to a failed state.
Despite their ceasefire in place with the current regime, the two groups released a statement on December 16, denouncing the military government's acts of violence against the people of Rakhine.
On December 10th, the military commission, overlooking that it was the International Human Rights Day, dropped two 500-pound bombs on Mrauk-U General Hospital, killing 33 civilians and injuring 77 more. On December 11th, the commission also bombed the upper and lower villages of the Ngalonesu village tract in Kyaukphyu Township, which led to the deaths of 9 civilians and injuries to 15 others.
