Military Junta Airstrike Hits Shwe Laik Wa Village Near Indian Border

On the morning of July 26, the military dictatorship launched an airstrike on Shwe Laik Wa Village, Paletwa Township, located along the border between Paletwa Township and Mizoram State, India.

The military dictatorship's air force bombed Shwe Laik Wa Village, situated on the border between Paletwa Township and Saiha Township, around 12:00 AM on August 26 using a single jet fighter for approximately 10 minutes.

The airstrike-targeted Shwe Laik Wa Village is a border village located along the road between Shin Let Wa in Paletwa Township and Khaikhy Village in Saiha Township, serving as the last village on the Myanmar side.

Earlier on August 24, the military dictatorship also conducted an airstrike on Sein Nhyin Wa Village in Paletwa Township, killing five people including two children and critically injuring 17 others, among whom eight were children.

Analysts suggest that the military dictatorship's targeted airstrikes on commercially vital villages are intentionally aimed at disrupting India-Arakan trade.
