Several Malaysian companies—including government-backed entities—are supplying aviation equipment, drone components, and maintenance services to Myanmar’s military regime as it escalates lethal airstrikes against civilians, according to investigation group Justice for Myanmar (JFM).

The report, released on Oct. 7 as Malaysia prepared to host junta chief Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing, identified three Malaysian-based firms facilitating logistics and supplies for the regime’s air force.

Among them, FJ Global Aeroparts (M) Sdn Bhd, financed by an agency under the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office, sought components for K-8W light attack jets, Orlan-10E surveillance drones, and Russian-made Mi-series helicopters.

Meanwhile, Myanmar junta engineers have visited Malaysia state-owned enterprise Asia AeroTechnic Sdn Bhd in February 2026 to arrange maintenance for an Airbus A319 aircraft.

Additionally, Skyways Technics Asia, a subsidiary of Denmark-based Skyways Technics A/S, shipped aircraft parts directly to known Myanmar military arms brokers.

Human rights activists in Kachin and Rakhine states reported daily civilian casualties from junta airstrikes, condemning regional governments for maintaining ties with regime leaders.

“Malaysian companies are helping a regime committing large-scale atrocities, yet the government is doing nothing to stop them,” said JFM spokesperson Ma Yadanar Maung, who also denounced Kuala Lumpur’s ongoing deportations of Myanmar nationals.

JFM urged Malaysia to ban domestic firms supplying military equipment to the junta. It also called on the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia and the European Union to impose targeted sanctions on entities that supply or maintain military aircraft for the regime.
