Junta troops in Kyaukphyu in disarray following death of brigadier general, capture of lieutenant colonel

In the clashes in and near Kyaukphyu, Rakhine State, a brigadier general, who was a division commander of the military council, was killed, while another lieutenant colonel was captured by the AA. Reports indicate that several ranks of junta troops in the battalions based in Kyaukphyu are facing chaos due to deserters and those who have surrendered.
Brigadier General Kyaw Myo Aung, the tactical commander of the 11th Infantry Division stationed in Intaing, Yangon Region, was killed in the battle of Kyaukphyu on May 26. Another division commander (first class), ID No. Army/37532, Lieutenant Colonel Kyaw Lin Kyaing, was captured by the AA on May 30 together with several of his soldiers.
