Junta’s airstrike hit Thandwe residential area, 2 people injured, 9 houses destroyed

At least two local individuals were seriously injured and 9 houses damaged when the junta’s air forces dropped a bomb on Thandwe residential area this afternoon.
According to the Global Arakan Network, the incident took place at around 1:30 pm on Sunday, as the junta forces conducted an airstrike by dropping bombs on Thandwe, a district town located in the southern part of Rakhine State.
An official from the administration stated that the bombing occurred on Boyoke street in ward number 3, when two people sustained injuries.
The injured individuals have been identified as U Aung Than Lwin and U Thet Aung, both around 50 years old. Aung Than Lwin broke his left arm and Thet Aung sustained head injuries.
The destroyed houses belonged to Daw Aye, Daw Chan May, U Tin Aung, U La Lu, U Myo, Daw Htwe Kyi and Ko Leng.
Local residents allege that whenever the Burmese army suffers casualties against the Arakan Army, they usually target the civilian areas.
The military sources indicate that the junta is currently facing losses in the battles of Kyaukpyu and Pandaung near Kapasa-16, a military defense equipment factory in Bagu division of Burma.
