Seven civilians including four children were killed in the Myanmar junta’s latest airstrikes on resistance-held territories in northern Mandalay Region and Karenni (Kayah) State on Wednesday.
A regime fighter jet bombed Mawchi town in Hpasawng Township, Karenni State at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to locals. Known for its centuries-old tin and tungsten mines, the town is under the control of a Karenni resistance alliance.
The bombs struck houses in Lol Law Htee Village, killing a family of five including two girls aged 3 and 8, and injuring five other villagers, said the Coordination Team for Emergency Relief-Karenni.
