Junta airstrike kills IDP woman on Christmas day in Thandwe

A woman who was displaced in Thandwe, a town in the southern district of Rakhine state, lost her life on Christmas Day due to an airstrike by the junta.


Local sources indicate that a junta jet fighter released a bomb over the village of Wra Shay Ywa in Thandwe Township.


The individual who passed away has been identified as 55-year-old Daw Naw Say Ray Paw, a displaced individual, as reported by APM news.


On December 25 at 12:48 am, the junta air forces deployed a fighter jet that dropped two 500-pound bombs.


One of the 500-pound bombs landed close to a rubber plantation situated east of Yat Shay Ywa village and exploded, piercing the right arm off the deceased woman's chest, resulting in her immediate death.
