Junta airstrike kills 4 civilians, injures 9 in Kyaukphyu in one week, AA reports

The Arakan Army (AA) announced on January 24 that, during the week, four civilians were killed and nine were injured due to drone strikes by the junta in the Kyaukphyu Township of Rakhine State, an area hosting major Chinese investments.
Between January 18 and 24, the military junta conducted multiple airstrikes focused on Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.
The AA's statement noted that around 1 pm on January 24, the junta targeted a high school located in the village of Mu Rwin within the Zin Chaung village tract, where IDPs reside.
"As a result of the assault, two civilians who had fled the war were killed, and five others were injured, including a child," it reported.
The victims were identified as Daw Phyu Nu Ma (81) and U Mae Daung (56) from Thaing Chaung Village.
Injured individuals included Maung Aye Min Khaing (9), Daw Khin San Win (34), Daw Ma Mya Yin (56), Daw Ba Numa (67), and U Maung Kyaw (63).
Additionally, the junta's military launched attacks in Kyaukphyu Township on January 18 and 19.
The statement indicated that not just jet fighters and drones were utilized, but also warships stationed offshore attacked with heavy weapons.
"As a consequence of these assaults, two innocent individuals were killed, two were injured, and several civilian homes were also burnt down," it remarked.
Furthermore, the military regime targeted Mu Rwin village again around 5 pm on January 24 using two drones, and subsequently conducted an aerial bombardment with a jet fighter around 5:30 pm.
