Junta airstrike hits school in Katha

ree

A junta airstrike on a middle school in Namsang Village, Katha Township, Sagaing Region, caused structural damage.

On December 7, around 7:00 pm, a junta jet dropped two bombs, damaging a kindergarten classroom and a two-story building.

The junta carried out the airstrike despite there being no active clashes in Katha Township, which lies near the Kachin State border.

“The middle school in the village was bombed. Since the school was already closed, there were no casualties. The kindergarten classroom was completely destroyed, and another two-story building was slightly damaged. There hasn’t been any fighting recently, but the junta still carried out the airstrike. The school has actually been closed for quite some time,” a Katha Township resident told KNG.
