Japan sends expert Team to assess earthquake damage in Myanmar


The Japanese Embassy in Yangon announced that a Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) expert team has been dispatched to Myanmar to assess the damage caused by the recent earthquake and evaluate the humanitarian assistance needs.


The mission will take place from April 27 to May 3, with visits to affected areas including Yangon and Mandalay.


In a statement, the embassy noted that the Japanese government has already taken several steps in response to the disaster. These include dispatching a Disaster Relief Medical Technical Team (JDR), providing emergency relief supplies, and offering emergency grant aid through international organizations.
