Interim government of Bangladesh agrees in principle to UN proposal to establish humanitarian corridor to Rakhine via Bangladesh

"We concur in principle to establish a humanitarian corridor for Rakhine," stated Bangladesh’s foreign ministry adviser Md Touhid Hossain, according to the Dhaka Tribune.

He delivered the comments while addressing reporters at the foreign ministry on Sunday.

"As per the UN proposal, Bangladesh has consented in principle to permit a humanitarian corridor to Rakhine. It will serve as a humanitarian pathway. However, certain conditions exist.

I will not elaborate further. If the requirements are fulfilled, we will certainly offer help,” he stated.
