Intense combat was reported once more in two areas close to Chinese developments in Kyaukphyu, situated approximately 10 miles from the city.

A local military source close to the AA reported that hostilities have resumed since October 14, when the Myanmar junta army launched a new offensive.

“The fighting is happening daily at this time. It is fierce. The military is once more launching an offensive against the areas governed by the AA, and the AA is fighting back," he stated.

A military column from the Dhanyawaddy Naval Headquarters, a major naval base located on the Arakan coast, has moved into the adjacent villages of Kulabar and Simaw, where combat is currently taking place, he stated.

Likewise, a joint unit from the 32nd Police Battalion, positioned six miles from downtown Kyaukphyu, is reported to be advancing from Gawtu Mountain towards Chaung Wa village.
